Krajina
Landscape
|
I admire the landscape of the Bohemian
Paradise, especially from a bike seat. I wrote this song for a film on the
bicycle race of “Tour de bière”. |

You really got my back up! |
Once I asked Petra Machova if she would
date me. She said she wouldn't and I replied: “You really got my back up!” |

The Cuckold |
After I visited Ivana Sinkmanova in her
apartment, I met with her boyfriend who told me he
knew I'd dated her. He was a cuckold. |

No Heeltaps! |
This is a song about
a girl who couldn't drink. A drunken woman is worse than an inflamed heel. |
Program lasky
Program of Love |
A slow song about a dying love and a
newly born one. |
Ja to znam
I Know It All |
This
brisk and lively song was included in the playlist of Chinaski band's gigs
for a couple of years. The guys of Chinaski asked me if they could record it
for their debut album CD. I didn’t authorize them to do so but I’m not sure,
if I’ve made the right decision. Chinaski always respected my decision. |
Klaviry
Grand Pianos |
Imagine one
hundred thousand grand pianos running past your favorite pub, while you’re
drinking beer. My brother’s college band played the
original
song by Tomas Rajtr and I re-arranged it for Dr.MOZSE later. |
Chuligan
A Hooligan |
I tried to write a punk
song. When I rushed to the railway station in 1984, I was singing this song
and almost missed the train. |
Zvlastni moc
Magic Might |
The Summer has its magic might. For me and Dr.MOZSE this song means the same
as Yesterday for
The Beatles. A
fate, unbeatable and quite simple song.
It describes my July 1985 adventure with Lucie Bartova of Lenora, with whom
I spent a wonderful Summer dream in Drevenice Camp. She’s never heard the
song. I wrote nothing better since then, though I wrote resuming songs later
(Strange Sickness,
Strange Help and
Strange Helplessness). The melody
inspired the Chinaski’s song of Mlada garda. |

Cash |
“What have I wasted my bucks for? Why
did I buy all that fucking damned rubbish? Are those new poor records ever
worth it?” I composed this song during the temporary two-week school hops
job in April 1983. My school classmates and I, we traveled to a hop planting
area in order to wire and prepare the hop-fields before the hops planting. |
Hlavne
Above
All |
The lyrics
are a wordplay, whose substance vanishes when translated. The exact
translation would sound “The polished gun barrels are above all”, which
rhymes in the Czech language. The song used to be a protest against the two-year
compulsory military service in the hated communist Czechoslovak Army,
affecting all male citizens above eighteen. |
Zvlaštni nemoc
Strange Sickness |
Fading love
causes
a strange sickness. The song tells a story about my love
Ivona in my college time in Prague. Also, it reflects the fading bitterness
of my previous love
Ilona. |
Faro
A Drag |
At the beginning it was just a fun. Mikes came with the only
sentence for the lyrics and I added the melody. The great success surprised
us. |
Co chcete?
What Do You Want? |
A musical poem by
Jacques
Prévert. |
Bylo nas pet
There were five of us |
An
autobiographical song about Dr.MOZSE band itself. |
Posekano
Mowed Down |
Imagine the mess, confusion, disarray,
chaos, havoc and muddle after a wild drinking spree. This is the greatest
band's hit of all time, however, it had never been recorded. This is the
first recording of an ancient song originating in 1987.
